SMT Assembly

Our strength in product assembly is our flexibility — dedicated people with strong craftsmanship combined with substantial recent investment in our machinery park. Three SMT production lines cover high-mix / low-volume through low-mix / high-volume, with a total speed of approximately 160 000 components per hour.

OVERVIEW

Every step in detail.

01

Paste depositing

Three screen printers EbyDEK from ASM, equipped with automatic paste inspection (Eagle Eye). A VCTA 3D SPI system verifies the deposited solder paste. The printers can apply both solder paste and SMT adhesive. Machines fitted with squeegees from 200 to 610 mm.

Pick & Place

Two brand-new Hanwha (Samsung) DECAN L1, two SM482+ and one DECAN S1 — each with high-resolution cameras and six or ten heads. From smallest 01005 components to large connectors, sockets and BGAs.

Reflow soldering

Three reflow ovens with 7, 9, and 10 heating zones provide excellent flexibility in thermal profiling. Using the specialized KIC X5 profiler, we set up and validate each soldering profile to ensure it is perfectly matched to the solder paste and production equipment. Upon request, we can also develop a dedicated soldering profile for a specific PCB.

Quality inspection — AOI

Our QC department focuses on automated inspection of the full production process using a Viscom S3088 Ultra Chrome 3D AOI system. Specific products are additionally examined with high-resolution microscopes. For applications that require deeper analysis, we use our Nikon XTV160 3D X-ray system to inspect hidden solder joints and internal features.
